How is it that time can have stood still for 39 years?
There was just a little bit more natural flotsam and jetsam...
But the sand dunes were there - the same.
And the sand banks materialised with the tides.
There were kids running and jumping in the deep and fast-flowing Avon - as we used to: the excitement and fear!
There were more rocks - it seemed.
The sand was as fine as remembered.
There were barb-b-q's but no sandwiches and apple pies!
There were more wet-suits.
Men carried the ice- boxes: the kids the buckets and spades (in their wet-suits).
I don't remember so many swooping seagulls but I suppose the burgers were tempting...
Then to Dartington, Totnes, Parkland et al.
